Astronomik 36 mm Dark Frame Filter
This Astronomik Dark Frame Filter comes in a round 36 mm configuration and is of crucial importance when imaging with a CCD camera lacking a mechanical shutter. If you want to capture dark frames with no annoying imaging setup checks required, a dark frame filter like this one is essential. In addition, you can take dark frames without capping off your telescope by attaching this opaque filter to a filter wheel. This dark frame filter/filter wheel combination works even better than the standalone filter.
Imaging with a mechanical shutter-less CCD camera is a lot easier with an Astronomik Dark Frame filter. These include Starlight Xpress, Imaging Source, Atik, etc. interline CCD cameras.
